Top of the Rock Observation Deck

At 850 feet (259 m) above the New York skyline, the three-tiered observation deck at Rockefeller Center offers a stunning and unobstructed 360-degree view of the city.

John D. Rockefeller, Jr. first opened the Observation Deck atop Rockefeller Center in 1933. He modeled it after the decks of the great ocean liners of the era, complete with deck chairs, gooseneck fixtures, and vents inspired by a ship’s stacks.

For the first time in 20 years, this breathtaking vantage point is being reintroduced to the public. The newly opened observation deck—located on the 67th, 69th, and 70th floors of Rockefeller Center—offers visitors an experience in both history and scenery. Panels of fully transparent, non-reflective safety glass allow completely unobstructed, open-air views.

A sophisticated time-ticketing system virtually eliminates the hassle of waiting in line when you have pre-booked tickets.

Note:
The first elevator goes up at 8:30 AM; the last goes up at 11 PM. The elevator to the top features flashing lights and views of the elevator shaft. You will exit the observation deck through the gift shop on the concourse level. Children 5 years and younger may participate free of charge. The staff at Top of Rock is multilingual.
